Call for Studies

Trees for Life Journal is currently focusing on studies exploring the potential of Moringa oleifera, commonly known as the Moringa tree. The following links give detailed information on the specific subjects of study we are interested in supporting.

If you know of anyone who may be interested in studying one of these subjects, please ask them to contact us.

Moringa oleifera: Studies Related to Human Malnutrition and Disease Prevention

The leaves of the Moringa tree are rich in essential nutrients. They may be able to prevent untold suffering and death due to malnutrition and related diseases. Further studies are needed that examine nutritional composition, bio-availability of nutrients, and effects related to human malnutrition and disease prevention. (more)

Moringa oleifera for Cattle Fodder and Plant Growth

Preliminary studies have shown that Moringa leaves and green stems, when used as a cattle fodder supplement, can significantly increase both daily weight gain and milk production. Other studies have shown that a spray made from Moringa can boost plant growth and increase crop production. If these techniques can be reproduced in the field, it would be a great boon to people in developing countries. (more)
